Nagpur, June 23: RSS Nagpur Mahanagar Sanghchalak Rajesh Loya, Shyam Deshmukh of Sarva Panth Samadar Manch, BJP MLA Sudhakar Deshmukh and MRM National Convener Virag Pachpore were conspicuous by their presence at the Roja Iftar party organized by Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Nagpur on Thursday.

The Iftar party held at the very crowded Mominpura locality of the city, was attended by over 200 Muslim ‘rojedars’ who broke their fast with dates, sweetmeats and cow milk. It may be recalled that MRM has been conducting a nation-wide campaign titled cow milk parties during the holy month of Ramjan, to impress upon the members of Muslim community the utility and health values of cow milk and health hazards of the beef consumption.

This iftar party was the first such event organized at the crowded main street of Mominpura otherwise considered as out of bounds for the RSS men. The presence of RSS functionaries disseminated the message of harmony and fraternity and peace in the locality.

The Iftar party at Nagpur is a part of a series of such functions held throughout the country during Ramzan. Last week, a party was hosted at Delhi with diplomats from Muslim countries, except Pakistan, being invited.

Virag Pachopre, the national convener of MRM, and a senior RSS functionary told newspersons that MRM's Iftar parties are also called as cow milk parties. "A message is being spread that beef is harmful, and instead, milk and ghee, which are beneficial for health, should be consumed," he said.

RSS Nagpur Mahanagar Sanghchalak Rajesh Loya said that the message of peace and brotherhood must be sent to the people on such occasions like Eid or Diwali. He stressed on providing education to the children and making the country free of terrorism and corruption.

The Imam of Jama Masjid prayed for the welfare of all, peace and progress of the country at the beginning of the iftar party.

Moohd Faruk Shaikh, Convener of MRM Maharashtra unity said that it was a good start for them. Never before did the organization hold such an event in Mominpura or in the city. “We could manage the show despite some opposition," he said.

Senior members and office-bearers of MRM including Ansar Ali, Deewan Shaad Ali, Irfan Ansari, Riyaz Khan, Aslam Khan, Irshad Hussain and others were present.
